bring/take/fetch

bring
- this is used for things coming to where we are

take
- this is used for things going somewhere else

fetch
- this means going somewhere else and coming back with something

lay/lie (verb)

Example 1

to lay (the table)
to lay (an egg)

a) She is laying the table.
b) She was laying the table.
c) She lays the table.
d) She laid the table.
e) She has laid the table.

Example 2

to lie (down)

a) He is lying down.
b) He was lying down.
c) He lies down.
d) He lay down.
e) He has lain down.

Example 3

to (tell a) lie

a) They are lying.
b) They were lying.
c) They lie.
d) They lied.
e) They had lied.
